NILE's GEORGE KOLLIAS: Drum Parts On New CD 'Are Crushing Everything I've Done In The Past'

April 1, 2007

NILE recently entered Sound Lab Studios in Columbia, South Carolina to begin recording the follow-up to 2005's "Annihilation of the Wicked", due later in the year via Nuclear Blast Records. The band is once again working with producer Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE) and engineer Bob Moore.

Commented drummer George Kollias: "We have almost finished the album and we will start the mixing progress really soon. The new album sounds so great. You guys will not believe the new shit! The new songs sound so aggressive and punishing, so punishing!!!

"As far as the drum parts, I am 100% satisfied this time and I believe they are crushing everything I've done in the past. Yes, I am fucking excited with this album!!!"

In other news, Kollias has scheduled two drum clinics in Athens, Greece on April 21 and April 23.

NILE's last album, "Annihilation of the Wicked" album, was released in May 2005 via Relapse Records. A video for the album track "Sacrifice Unto Sebek" was shot on location in Atlanta, GA by director Chad Rullman (MASTODON's "March of the Fire Ants", THE AGONY SCENE) for Supercollider Films.

NILE will embark on a headlining tour of Australia in May. Support at the shows will come from Polish technical death metal sensations DECAPITATED.

NILE has been confirmed as one of the second-stage bands at this year's Ozzfest alongside HATEBREED, BEHEMOTH, MONDO GENERATOR, ANKLA, CIRCUS DIABLO and THE SHOWDOWN, among others. The 24-city tour begins July 12 in Seattle.
